Sure.<\/p>\n

Boycott the Oscars.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t go.<\/p>\n

Tell your friends not to go.<\/p>\n

Tell everyone to ignore the show.<\/p>\n

Have an \u201cAntiOscar\u201d Party and black out the broadcast.<\/p>\n

That\u2019ll show \u2018em.<\/p>\n

That\u2019ll fix their wagons, dammit.<\/p>\n

Lower the Ratings!<\/p>\n

Cost them Money!<\/p>\n

Hurt \u2018em. HURT \u2018em. HURT \u2018EM!<\/p>\n

\u2026or\u2026<\/p>\n

Perhaps, you could do something with powerful, positive impact.<\/p>\n

There is a Higher Road.<\/p>\n

You could use the broadcast to make an indelible, irrevocable point.<\/p>\n

You would go.<\/p>\n

You would wear White.<\/p>\n

You would support your friends and colleagues who are nominated. Show them support, wish them well, applaud and acknowledge their accomplishments and contribute to the specialness of their night as they would applaud you were your name called.<\/p>\n

In doing so, you would co-opt the Oscar Broadcast and have your point seen by millions watching the broadcast from around the world.<\/p>\n

You would carry white flowers, wear a white tux, a fabulous white gown, drag around a fierce, white boa.<\/p>\n

And every image of the Oscar broadcast would be a Sea of White.<\/p>\n

Every shot of the audience, every on-camera interview, every Presenter, every One To Whom The Oscar Goes would be wearing white.<\/p>\n

The White Oscars.<\/p>\n

\u201cMommy; why is everyone wearing white\u2026?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014-<\/p>\n

Boycotting the Oscars is not the answer.<\/p>\n

Now. Especially now; is the time to show up.<\/p>\n

While your absence might be felt, your seat would be filled.<\/p>\n

Your presence, however, will be seen and felt and documented and last for as long as digital memory exists.<\/p>\n

I offer that this is an opportunity to support the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in ramping up the evolution that has been far too long in coming.<\/p>\n

Rather than damage and destroy, perhaps have a powerful and positive, immediate impact.<\/p>\n

Build.<\/p>\n
